JCB Engineering Challenge
Posted: January 4th, 2016
This term a group of year ten pupils working with Mr Beardmore in our Design Technology Department and JCB graduate Engineers, took part in an engineering challenge where they had to model a JCB Loadall boom. They then had to modify their model to lift the heaviest weight and reach the furthest distance.
The final was held in December at Entrust headquarters in Stafford. Our team had to present their project in front of a panel of judges and a large audience.
Beating 9 other schools, the Sir Thomas Boughey High School team won the category for Best Performing Model.
Our team was: Charles Taylor, Sebastian Merritt-Hopwood, Lewis Franks, Rachel Jose, William Austin & Jon O’Connor.
