Jo Ayre & Art Department Collaboration
Posted: February 1st, 2016
We have been working on the ‘Lost Boys of WW1’ art project with the British Ceramics Biennial at Spode and Ceramic Artist and the Biennial Studio Manager, Jo Ayre.
As part of this Jo has been working within the Art Department with the Year 10 artists involved in the project, on a series of two hour workshops.
Completed work will be exhibited at Newcastle College alongside the work that the Newcastle students have produced. The art work will also be exhibited in the Collections Gallery of Manchester University over the summer.
We are very proud of the fact that the Biennial have chosen us to work with them on and fund this project. Indeed we are the only secondary school in Stoke on Trent to be participating in the project.
Jo said, “As only Year 10 you have made some truly thoughtful decisions with your work that go above and beyond what would normally be expected of your level. You have shown a really mature way of working, and you’ve really thought about what you’re doing and how it links in with the Lost Boys project.”
