Letter – Non Uniform Day
Posted: March 22nd, 2018
Dear Parents / Carers
Non Uniform Day
On Thursday 29th March we are holding a non-uniform day, where we are asking for a contribution of £1, in order to raise funds for a number of worthwhile charities.
Year 8 students are currently involved in a First Give Project, which is a national charity that works in partnership with secondary schools to help young people give their time, tenacity and talents to improve their local communities. Our Year 8 students have chosen to support the charity CRY, therefore some of the money collected will be donated towards the Year 8 students and their fund-raising. During the final week of term, there will be many additional fund-raising events organised by Year 8 students, including car washing, sporting events, cake sales – and throwing wet sponges at teachers, to name but a few.
A number of Drama students in Year 10 are currently involved in a community event, working in partnership with the New Vic Theatre, where they have been tasked with organising and delivering a community event in the summer. More details about this exciting event will be released in the coming months. Although financial support for this project has been provided through the New Vic, our students are also required to support the funding through their own initiatives, therefore members of this groups have also asked if money raised from a non-uniform day can support them with the delivery of their project.
We hope you will support our students in helping to make a difference to our local community.
