Production of PPE visors at Sir Thomas Boughey Academy
Posted: May 4th, 2020
The demand for PPE equipment, in particular visors, was high in our local community following the Facebook post. As a team, the Technology Faculty teamed up with Peter Jones form Model and Scenic Solutions, a local Bignall End based business who have been making visors. Together we have made and delivered 1,075 visors to front line workers in the local community. Mr Harridge developed a programme on the laser printer to cut out and make the visors, and Dr Kidd-Smithers made bags so that the visors can be kept clean and sterile when not in use. All the visors were packaged and delivered under social distancing measures by Miss Hughes, and some of the amazing workers who have received these have sent pictures of them in use. A big thank you must go to Peter and the team at Model Scenic Solutions for the production of over 1,000 visors, which we packaged and delivered to the front-line workers.
Thank you to all frontline workers in the community, we are all heroes and we are proud to be able to support you.
