Keeping Up with Maths

Posted: June 5th, 2020

I am aware that many of you are going to be taking courses at college that require your maths skills to be on point, to this end I have curated a list of website that will help you both recall and improve your mathematical skills to ensure that they are sharp enough to deal with any problem solving you encounter in your future studies. This set of resources would also help you to prepare to sit a maths exam if you so wish:

Step 1 – Try some past papers – https://www.mathsgenie.co.uk/papers.html

This website has the papers, the mark scheme, the worked solutions and videos explaining how to answer the questions.

Step 2 – Sign up to Dr Frost Maths – https://www.drfrostmaths.com/

This website uses a machine learning algorithm to establish what you know and what you need to do next to improve in maths. This will ensure that you have an opportunity to revise topics that you have forgotten how to do.

This website allows you to do ‘mini mocks’ on certain topics or to do a complete paper – it marks the exam as you go so you can see how close you are to each grade and what you need to be able to do to get to the next grade boundary.

If you need any help at all, do not hesitate to get in touch via email.

Thanks, Mr Mason
