The Year 7 futsal squad today visited Keele University and took part in a tournament with four other teams. ![]()
The team, consisting of Bode Clifton, Ryan Rhodes, Jake Dawson, Leo Pickthorne, Harley Gilmore, Bobby Hales and Gus Metcalf, battled well throughout, showing great determination, passion and skill. The tournament ultimately went down to our last game against Madeley after two wins and a draw in the earlier fixtures. However, the pressure was on as we needed to win to win the tournament. After going a goal behind, Leo equalised to give us hope. Unfortunately, Madeley scored another to clinch the title.
The team did STB proud and coming runners-up on the day was well deserved. Well done boys.![]()

Well done 7-1!
It was a hot cross bun kind of day in the Food room yesterday at Sir Thomas Boughey. The Food Preparation and Nutrition students in Year 10 and 11 were learning about enriched doughs and the making of hot cross buns fitted perfectly just in time for Easter. The room smelled lovely and students enjoyed eating them warm, straight from the oven.
A fantastic opportunity for the Easter break.

Community ambassadors
As part of our work with the Parish Council, our Year 9 Community Ambassadors began their work helping with the upkeep and maintenance of Leddy's Field in Audley. After a brief tour of the site, they set to work sanding down and painting the metal on the newly refurbished benches, did a litter pick and began construction on a dry hedge to encourage wildlife. It was a busy afternoon and we must thank Mr Ian Rowley from the Parish Council for his help and support on the day. We look forward to continuing the work after Easter.
Year 9 Curriculum for Life - update
As they come to the end of their cooking module, the first group of Curriculum for Life students took up the challenge of cooking a 2 course meal for £2. They all sent out an invitation to a member of staff to join them for lunch. Dishes included French baguette pizza, toasties, baked bananas with chocolate and flapjacks with apricots. The lunch was a fantastic success and we look forward to Group 2 cooking after Easter.
