Chef Session with James Holden

The Year 10’s were delighted to be cooking with Chef James Holden last week. James, who is a Senior Chef Lecturer with the Academy of Culinary Arts, came into school to deliver a cooking session with the Year 10 GCSE Catering class.
James demonstrated a three course menu; minestrone soup, meatballs in a Neapolitan sauce with spaghetti and a lemon and raspberry zabaglione.
The students then made the minestrone soup and the meatballs. They worked incredibly hard; they had so much to do during the hour! Peeling, chopping, sautéing, frying, boiling, simmering…..all cooking methods were explored and the results were so impressive!
Well done to all of the students, and a massive thank you to Ryan Machin & Megan Weaver who stayed behind to help wash up all of the equipment at the end!
