U16 Girls vs Ormiston

First of all apologies to Summer Chamberlain who played for the under 13 team against Christchurch Academy and was not mentioned in the match report. Summer showed great skills supporting the attack and helped with our 10-0 win. Well done.
Under 16 girls vs. Ormiston Sir Stanley Matthews in the County league.
The under 16 girls football team played their first game away in the county league and showed an excellent team spirit. STB started very positively, playing some attacking football, with the attack working well to create early chances. Jade Thornhill hit the post and STB had 5 corners, dominating the possession, but still no breakthrough goal. In the second half, Beth Askey scored a brilliant free kick but the referee disallowed it, claiming he had not signaled for the free kick. Ormiston started to get into the game and had a couple of good chances, but Chelsea Barbour in goal made great saves and Zoe Harriman strong in defence. However in the final couple of minutes, a loose ball from an Ormiston corner resulted in a sloppy goal conceded by STB and there was not enough time to equalize.
A disappointing result of 0-1, but the girls will have their chance to beat them in the return fixture in a few weeks time.
