Operation Christmas Child Report

Posted: November 20th, 2014

Once again the School Council co-ordinated the school’s participation in Operation Christmas Child. Each tutor group put together a Christmas box full of items. The boxes were then collected and sent overseas. The boxes are given to children who would not get a Christmas gift otherwise.

The tutor groups were innovative with their fundraising to buy the gifts. 7JK and 7LE ran a stall at our Christmas Fayre. 10RL organised a car wash on the same day while 10NS held a class collection where all their loose change was donated. Others brought in gifts from home.

The school put together 42 boxes and received a certificate of thanks from the charity. In total 610 boxes were collected in the local area. We are very proud to have once again been able to make a difference to children across the world.
