Year 10 Triple Science trip to Staffs University
Posted: February 5th, 2015
The Year 10 Triple Science pupils visited Staffordshire University to participate in a series of activities.
The first activity involved a two hour Undergraduate investigation into osmosis. Here the pupils had to use a variety of practical skills to accurately set up and conduct their investigation.
After lunch saw the group carry out a further investigation but this time into the effects of exercise on heart rate. This activity enabled some of the pupils to wire themselves up to an ECG in order to accurately measure their heart rate.
The final activity of the day was a University style lecture on genetics and evolution which the majority enjoyed thoroughly.
All pupils took a lot from the day and will now hopefully be more inspired to enter a career in Science in the future.
