Year 11 Leavers’ Meal
Posted: June 18th, 2015
This year’s event was again held at the very grand Crewe Hall. Pleasingly the weather was fantastic this year and the pupils were busy grabbing lots of photographs outside as they arrived at school before we departed. Of course we had a variety of formal outfits, from tuxedos to suits, and even a kilt was present (commendable from Ruirdh) from the gentlemen, and the ladies had formal gowns, large American style prom outfits and some delicate cocktail dresses. All had clearly gone to a huge effort to signify their exit from school and experience this once in a life time event.
Over 90% of the year group attended, and a majority of staff also turned up to share in the evening. As usual the shoes didn’t last long on the ladies and photographs were being taken all night by the professionals from Academy, by each other and by me, wandering around trying to catch the atmosphere on film. It was another excellent evening and the pupils conducted themselves in exemplary fashion, showing we have a fine crop of young adults about to enter the ‘real’ world and if this evening was anything to go by, I’m sure they will acquit themselves incredibly well.
