U15 Girls Cricket Team

The Under 15 girls cricket team took part in a 8 a side Chance to Compete competition held at Little Stoke. They have been training every Monday night with a coach from Audley Cricket Club. They won 2 out of 3 games and so qualified for the semi-finals of the County competition, held at Penkridge Cricket Club last week.

The girls played well, but found runs hard to find and finished on a total of 39 in the limited overs game. Thomas Alleynes of Uttoxeter managed to hit 40 with one over remaining and so went through to the County finals.

Well done to: Megan Jones, Niamh Hartless, Ellie Ecclestone, Shannon Fahey, Bethan Moore, Nicole Turner, Rebecca Babb, Katy Turner, Fay Ashley, Leah Carvell and Esme Holt.

Special mention to Megan Jones of Year 9 who attended an England Development Day with English Cricket. It did mean, however, that Megan was not allowed to play in the County semi-final competition, as she is too high a standard!
