Operation Christmas Child Shoe Boxes

Posted: December 8th, 2015

Once again we supported the Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child by filling shoe boxes with Christmas gifts for children around the world who are in need. The initiative is organised by the local churches and it is one that we once again committed to as a school.

In total we donated 57 boxes full of small gift items for boys and girls. The pupils also raised the money for the postage for the boxes, which is an invaluable help to the charity. Pupils and staff all took this worthwhile charity to heart and there was much competition between the tutor groups as to who could donate the most boxes. Mrs Kay’s tutor group filled 7 boxes, narrowly beating Miss Bibby’s tutor group who donated 6 boxes.

In total the area donated 725 boxes this year, compared to 690 boxes in 2014. We are tracking our boxes and photographs will be sent to us when they are given to the children. Thank you to everybody for their contributions. We are such a caring community and continue to give unconditionally.
