STB Umpire County Finals!

3 pupils from STB umpired the Year 5/6 County School Games finals at Fenton Manor Sports Complex on February 2nd. Rachel Glover, Rebecca Day and Loan Nguyen were selected to umpire following their good display at the Newcastle District tournament. The organiser of the competition, Julie Tinsley from Newcastle Netball club emailed to pass on my thanks and appreciation to the school for providing the young umpires. She also said “the girls were first class in both their umpiring and behaviour and you should be extremely proud of them” and “we received nothing but praise from all the schools taking part for the girls and they were outstanding”.

Well done to the 3 girls and we hope they continue to progress with their umpiring further both in school and at competitions.
