Mock Interviews 2016
Posted: February 25th, 2016
Pupils at Sir Thomas Boughey High School are geared up for the workplace after taking part in mock interviews with employers across the region.
Year 11 pupils were asked a series of questions to give them experience of a real life interview in the annual event on Thursday 11th February. 24 different interviewers grilled pupils about jobs they had applied for in advance by submitting their CVs, letters of application and personal statements.
Representatives from organisations such as the Royal Air Force, PM Training, Brampton Recruitment, Academy Photography and the local Rotary Club supported the interviews. Interviewers also attended from educational institutions including South Cheshire College, Newcastle College and Total People.
A total of 77 pupils took part in the evening and attended the event dressed to impress in smart interview clothing. They were given time for last minute preparations before being called into half hour interview slots.
The mock interview evening was a resounding success. It was the first opportunity for many pupils to experience a real life interview situation and it was a great opportunity for them to impress potential employers. Interviewers gave the pupils important feedback on their interviews, CVs, letters of application and top interview tips after each of the sessions.
Sir Thomas Boughey High School would like to say a big thank you to interviewers from organisations across the area who came and supported our pupils and made a huge contribution to the event.
