Newcastle-under-Lyme STARS Squad

Pupils who are regional or national level in their sport, and aged 11-16, are invited to join the Newcastle-under-Lyme STARS squad to gain access to extra training and support in their sport.

Pupils have taken part in trips to the Manchester Velodrome to learn how to cycle on the World Championship track and watch Team GB train, met with past Olympians for inspirational talks and use the extensive facilities at NULC for extra training with psychological and physical support.

Megan Jones – Cricket
Alex Parsons – Horse Riding
Lauren Finney – Gymnastics

There is also a Performing Arts STARS squad at NULC which has just been set up and also involves some STB pupils. If you think you are of an excellent standard in singing, dancing, playing a musical instrument or acting, please see Mrs O’Neill for more information about an audition at the college.
