Celebration of Music 2016
Posted: June 6th, 2016
Thursday 26th May saw our annual ‘Celebration of Music’ at STB.
Each year we present an evening of entertainment showcasing the musical talents from years 7-11 at STB. We have performers from beginners to grade 8 musicians, solos to ensembles and younger to older performers performing an eclectic mix of musical genres and styles.
This year’s performances included music ranging from the traditional ‘Scarbrough Fair’ to Queen’s ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’. We had performances from Harmonize, Guitar Group, the Year 10 GCSE Music class, Flute choir, Brass ensemble, a piano trio and many other solo and duet performances.
I’d like to take this opportunity to thank the excellent team of peripatetic staff for their hard work week in, week out with the pupils and their support on the evening: Mrs Critchlow (piano), Miss Underwood (woodwind), Mr Hughes (brass), Mr Pickford (voice), Mr Chell (guitar) and Mr Rogers (drums).
STB musicians shone last night; they made the Music dept and their parents and friends very proud.
A Big Well Done from Miss Miller and Mrs Trender.
