Festive Fun at the Christmas Fayre
Posted: November 22nd, 2016
STBHS’s Christmas Fayre on Saturday 5th November 2016 was again a HUGE success. We had a steady stream of enthusiastic Christmas shoppers who turned out and were rewarded with an afternoon of festive fun!
In his grotto, Santa had almost lost his voice by the end of the afternoon. Let’s hope his wise words to the children all turn into the gifts they want to receive on Christmas day.
There were a wide array of stalls and many of us began our Christmas shopping. The Cardiac Risk in the Young charity’s stall was full of interesting and innovative items raising money for a charity that is close to our hearts. Teresa’s knits had some wonderful knitted items and the hedgehogs were especially popular. Sam’s Hen Goodies were selling some fantastic Christmas decorations. Mrs Griffin’s creative Christmas crafts were selling like hot cakes! There were many departments and tutor groups represented too. 7CW’s tombola had a mathematical twist to their winning numbers – they were all prime numbers! Taylor Bagnall sold homemade cards and decorations all raising money for the Cardiac Risk in the Young charity. The technology department and the Green Car stall once again produced some intricately designed wooden gifts including Elves doors and a lovely slate to keep count of how many sleeps until Christmas were left. Goodwins goodies had an array of mouth watering cakes and all were soon sold. The Geography department once again ran their very successful and popular Chocolate tombola.
We were entertained by the Congleton Youth Orchestra whose talented young musicians played a wide range of Christmas Carols. They were splendid!
Thank you to all who helped make the afternoon so enjoyable. It was wonderful that so many supported the Christmas Fayre and we look forward to our next co-operative community event.
