A Celebration of Music 2017

On Thursday 18th May we held our annual Celebration of Music here in the school hall.
We had a variety of musical performances prepared by our pupils from years 7 through to 11. They had been practising hard in preparation for the evening concert and nerves were high backstage. We had solo acts, duets and ensemble acts from the music of Cole Porter to Schoenberg and the Beatles to Greenday. The pupils all surpassed themselves with some great performances and some stole the show with their hidden talents and the progress that they have been making behind the scenes.
We even had a member of staff singing with a year 11 pupil on stage to cheers from the pupils in the audience!
Half of the proceeds of the raffle have been donated to the O’Connor Centre in Newcastle, helping STB pupil Rhys Howley with his fundraising target. We would like to thank all of the parents, instrumental staff and STB staff who came along to support the pupils on the evening and look forward to seeing how the pupils progress until May 2018.
