On Friday the 16th June, 16 students who have been attending the Friday indoor climbing club went on a day trip to the north Peak District to test their skills at rock climbing.

With a slightly over cast morning the students managed to successfully reach the top of the climbs many times. This was rewarded by a well-earned lunch break. After re-fueling the students completed more climbs in the afternoon, learnt how the setup and the placing of gear in the rock. They tackled a traverse challenge set by Mrs Locke with some pupils managing to complete this task successfully. Mr Cumberland worked with students passing on his wide knowledge of the sport and gear placement to GCSE level which was invaluable.

The behaviour was outstanding for the whole day and the students were not only appreciative for the opportunity, but really gained confidence in their abilities.
