The future looks bright for the students of Sir Thomas Boughey, as their GCSE results secure them safely onto the courses and career destinations of their choice.

Students of Sir Thomas Boughey grinned from ear to ear earlier this morning as they collected their long-awaited GCSE results. And rightly so, as 74% of students gained 5 or more higher grades, a big improvement on last year’s 68%.

Student Charlotte Fone, expressed how nervous she was prior to picking up her results this morning. However, she is ‘extremely proud’ of herself, particularly with her English result as she had previously struggled in her mock exam, so to now attain a high grade was a huge achievement. Charlotte is looking forward to studying Psychology, Biology and Art at College, and hopes that her variety in subject choice means that one day in the future, she will be able to work in either the Interior Design or Science Industry.

Megan Jones and Jack Gater spoke of how achieving the title of Head Girl and Deputy Head Boy last year, had really helped improve their confidence. Duties such as speaking in assemblies and giving tours of the school, has taught them skills they will carry into future endeavours and apply to other challenges. Combine this with your excellent GCSE results and we have no doubt you will thrive at whatever it is you do!

Principal Jane Hingley spoke regarding the results, ‘I would like to congratulate every one of our Year 11 pupils on their excellent achievements, and I wish them well with their next step in life.’
