Year 10 Trip to Oxford University

Posted: May 10th, 2018

Year 10 pupils enjoyed a fantastic trip to Oxford University where they spent time in Wadham and Jesus Colleges.

Pupils were given a talk on university life and student finance and then had the opportunity to discuss lectures, accommodation and social life with existing students. Before lunch pupils were privileged enough to witness a post exam ritual soaking by third year students!

After sampling the refectory food, pupils were given a tour of the Oxford colleges where the ‘bridge of sighs’, ‘ivory towers’ and other famous landmarks were discussed. Pupils then listened to a series of mini lectures which included topics such as why the Japanese don’t recognise swearing and how the QWERTY keyboard came to be.

All in all an enjoyable and enlightening experience!
