Exam Results 2022
Posted: September 5th, 2022
We are delighted to be celebrating the success of Year 11 2022. Their outcomes are a result of their considerable hard work and resilience during the pandemic, and the extended examination period.
Real improvements were seen compared to 2019 results (the last examination season) across a wide range of subjects, some of which include English (80% of students achieved a grade 4 and above: a 7% improvement on 2019 results), French saw an improvement of 48% in the number of students achieving a grade 4 and above, history saw a 28% improvement, maths 3%, psychology a 41% improvement compared to 2109 at grade 4+, RE 22%, and combined science saw an improvement of 10%. For students to achieve such improved results in the face of the disruption they have experienced really is incredible. It was wonderful to see so many happy faces collecting their results: shrieks of delight, tears of joy, and sighs of relief filled the school.
Mrs Hingley, the Principal, said, “We are incredibly proud of the hard work, focus and resilience shown by Year 11 2022, which has been particularly impressive in the face of the normal challenges associated with GCSEs, as well as the additional challenges students have faced over the course of the pandemic. We would like to thank the students for demonstrating such maturity, and the staff and families for providing excellent support that has enabled students to achieve outcomes to be proud of. It has been a privilege to support the class of 2022 on their educational journey, and we wish our students every success for the future. They will always remain part of the Sir Thomas Boughey community.”
