Welcome to Sir Thomas Boughey Academy; a safe, happy and stimulating school where students are motivated to learn and reach their full potential. Our committed teachers inspire students to achieve anything they set their mind to.

We are a school where the desire to absorb and learn is infectious, no matter what the ability of the student. Our overarching belief as a school is that every child has the right to an excellent education, and the opportunity to flourish under the guidance of our devoted staff. We build confidence and character, qualities all children need just as much as they do their high grades. Our number one goal is that every student leaves us having achieved their absolute potential, armed with the resilience, ambition and integrity that will allow them to create the future that they crave.

We firmly believing in helping young people to find their passion, which we do by immersing our students in a range of experiences, whether they are related to music, performing arts, sport, sustainability, or STEM. It is experiences such as these that enable students to find their purpose, and reach their potential.

In February 2022, Ofsted awarded a judgement of ‘Good’ in all categories, and praised the school for having high expectations, enthusiastic students and for the kindness and care demonstrated.

In Summer 2023, we involved all students in refining the school values, where it was agreed that the values of kindness, excellence and being respectful define everything that we believe in, and live by, at Sir Thomas Boughey Academy.

We are proud to work closely with parents, carers and the local community, and we feel that it is important for students to feel a sense of belonging within their school and community.  It is our close collaborative relationships between staff, students and parents / carers that facilitates student success.
